Southeastern Council of Alcoholism and Drug Dependence
The Southeastern Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc. (SCADD) is an organization dedicated to helping people and their families with alcohol and substance abuse problems. SCADD was founded in 1966 by three men — Attorney Morgan K. McGuire, Dr. Joseph A. Ceha and Reverend Orin E. Dice — who shared a vision of a community program organized, staffed, operated and funded (in part) by the people of Southeastern Connecticut.
We strive each day to carry out that vision and bring help to the sick and suffering substance abuser.
Griswold Pride
Griswold PRIDE is a Community Coalition in the Town of Griswold CT and serves as the Substance Abuse Prevention organization for the community.
By working together, we bring knowledge, resources, and passion from all different community sectors to reduce and prevent substance use in Griswold. Like them on Facebook!
Alcoholic Anonymous – Connecticut Area 11
Alcoholics Anonymous is a worldwide fellowship of men and women who help each other to stay sober. They offer the same help to anyone who has a drinking problem and wants to do something about it.
Since they are all alcoholics themselves, they have a special understanding of each other. They know what the illness feels like – and they have learned how to recover from it in AA.
Narcotics Anonymous – Connecticut Region
N.A. is a nonprofit fellowship or society of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem. We are recovering addicts who meet regularly to help each other stay clean. This is a program of complete abstinence from all drugs.
There is only one requirement for membership, the desire to stop using. We suggest that you keep an open mind and give yourself a break.
Our program is a set of principles written so simply that we can follow them in our daily lives. The most important thing about them is that they work. We have learned from our group experience that those who keep coming to our meetings regularly stay clean.

Project Courage Substance Abuse Recovery Center
Project Courage was built on the premise that meaningful change needs to happen not only within clients, but also within the field of mental health and substance abuse treatment.
We believe that barriers in the form of standards, customs, and procedures have presented themselves to our clients that have had the unfortunate effect of pushing them away. Project Courage holds that it is not just our clients that need to fall under the microscope of self-examination.
Natchaug Hospital
The hospital’s 57-bed facility in Mansfield Center, Connecticut, provides inpatient care for over 650 children and adolescents and 1,300 adults with mental illness or substance abuse issues each year.
Journey House, a 13-bed residential treatment center for adolescent girls, is also operated by Natchaug Hospital on its Mansfield campus.

These programs not only rebuild your health and strengthen our communities; they also offer less costly alternatives that save taxpayer dollars. The Connection is dedicated to inspiring you to be well and reach your full potential.
Perception Programs INC
We believe that addictions are biological, psychological, social, and behavioral disorders which can adversely affect a person’s physical, psychological, economic, spiritual, and social well-being.
We also recognize that mental health disorders and criminal behaviors are often closely associated with each other and with substance use. As a result, we offer multiple treatment modalities, using evidenced-based approaches to assist every client in developing cognitive, emotional, behavioral and social resources to live healthy lives.
