"When everything seems like an uphill struggle, just think of the view from the top."

This past Saturday, September 8, 2018, Lieutenant Matthew Solak had the honor of being asked to speak at the Matt’s Mission “Celebrates Recovery” event at Veteran’s Park in Jewett City, presenting on the topic of Police-Assisted Recovery. Matt’s Mission was founded by Kathleen Dufficy after the passing of her son Matthew as a result of substance use, and works to end the stigma of substance use addiction and facilitate treatment and recovery options, all here locally in eastern Connecticut. The Willimantic Police Department was very pleased to be represented at this important event. We would also like to thank Kathleen and the whole team at Matt’s Mission for their vital work, as well as supporting the idea of Police-Assisted Recovery in eastern Connecticut.
